Checking a day is free, and always will be — name a date and you get the whole picture, nothing withheld. What a pass buys is the searching: scanning a month, six months or a whole year at a time and ranking every day in it, so you don’t have to guess which dates are worth trying.
Two numbers, and they mean different things
Access is how long you can keep searching — 30 days, or a year. The window is how wide a single search can be.
They are independent, deliberately. On the last hour of a 30-day pass you can still search any month you like, next summer included — a pass sells how long you may keep asking, not how far ahead you may look.
